Apples To Apples

When comparing estimates with contractors you want to make sure your comparing apples to apples. Some things to look at that can be very critical are:

1.   Is the contractor Licensed and bonded. You are taking a huge risk to possibly save a little money. Although Just because someone is unlicensed does not mean they are cheaper. Remember if the contractor is not licensed they have nothing to loose and you have everything to loose.

2.   Does your contractor have workman’s comp insurance. This is important if an employee gets hurt on the jobsite (your house). This protects you from being sued for medical cost as well as many other cost that can occur.

3.   Did your contractor bring photos of work he has done in the past. Does the contractor have references for you to check if needed.

4.   What type of materials is your contractor using in comparison to the others.

5.   Will the actual contractor be on the jobsite.

6.   What type of warranty do they offer.

As you can see you have some things to consider when
picking someone to work on your home or business.
